Expression of Interest for the provision of service for Senior Veterinary Officer North

MALFFB is seeking a suitably qualified veterinarian to take on the role of Senior Veterinary Officer (SVO) North (post no. 7603) to assist the Principal Veterinary Officer in the management of animal health, public health, livestock production and market access of animals and animal products in the northern region and will be based in Luganville, Santo.

The veterinarians working under the department of Biosecurity Vanuatu provide essential roles to facilitate safe trade of animals and animal products as well as ensuring that the disease-free status of animal health in Vanuatu is maintained. This is done in collaboration with animal health officers and livestock officers to carry out disease surveillances and providing updated reports on these activities. The veterinarians are also responsible for maintaining meat hygiene standards through the approval and supervision of slaughterhouses and butcheries.
